Blank space would show up where the videos should have been. I attempted the same thing on another 2.8.6 installation and saw the same issue, but I noticed that it was only occurring in the posts—I could still embed a video into a sidebar widget.</p> <p><strong>Solution</strong>: I was able to solve the problem by going to <code>Settings » Writing</code>, and unchecking the box that says <code>WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically</code>.
