Hi. I've been really struggling with this and I'd appreciate if someone can help me...

I installed the Disqus plug in for better commenting and I love it but there is one problem. The form for commenting on my posts appears to be too wide. It goes all the way to the borders of the white area. As you can see for example on this post...

http://www.yupedia.com/fight-prostate-cancer-by-lowering-your-cholesterol.html

I was thinking that maybe there is a way to edit the code somewhere, maybe adjust/add the pixels or add a blockquote tag somewhere. I'm really not an expert on this but I would love to fix this.

When creating a form using "Contact Form 7", it creates information in the DB (as we all know) - but - the data is not in one table per form but is placed (or so it looks like) in a table called : wp_cf7dbplugin_submits. It seems to has all of the data for all fields and all forms created using "Contact Form 7".

If I create a form called "Customer Information" that has about 10 fields, how can I do something like
"select * from Customer_Information where field1 = X and field 2 = Y" straight from the MySQL database? I know one can export into a CSV but how can one get the data using PHP?

Hi there, I'm curious to know if there's anyone that would be willing to look at my first WordPress widget and give constructive criticism on how I've structured it.

Basically I'm new to php and WordPress, both. My first real php task was to develop a WordPress widget, which I've 95% successfully done. The widget I made basically lists links in a css styled list, which a network admin can add/remove/modify the link name/url.

The plugin works most of the time, but (what seems infrequent and randomly) replaces the name and url database contents with empty string data. Oddly enough, the id numbers remain, so at least it know there's 25 entries... they just have no data in the name and url fields.

It's probably an issue with the way I've either structured the code, or the logic in general, but from what I've seen it looks like it checks out fine.

I guess if anyone has some spare time and would like to look through the code that would be of great help. If not, maybe I'll bug a co worker and take them to lunch one day.

I can save the checked or unchecked checkbox from the option panel. The php for the panel looks like this:

Hi Otto, I don't know if you'll get a notified of a bump to this thread, but I've used SFC and really like it, but it doesn't seem to respond to my changing the width of the LIke functionality either in the Widget Settings or by editing to the plugin itself.

Do you have any idea how to fix it?
Can you check out http://www.menhadendefenders.com to see what I mean.

Thank you!

Hi,
i want to create a desktop application that requires the user to login using their existing credentials on my site. For this, the the application would have to access the MySQL server, which is all fine. However, the actual passwords are MD5 encrypted, so how would i get around this?

Not sure this method will work, the internal WP load order is all wrong I think for this method. Either use one of the plugins or code your own to switch between top level themes. (would have been nice though!). That's what I did. Not the ideal solution I wanted, but faster to make happen.

I added this to my themes fuctions file

Added login/out link to the menu:

add_filter('wp_nav_menu_items', 'add_login_logout_link', 10, 2);
function add_login_logout_link($items, $args) {

        ob_start();
        wp_loginout('index.php');
        $loginoutlink = ob_get_contents();
        ob_end_clean();

        $items .= '<li>'. $loginoutlink .'</li>';

    return $items;
}

But I want this to be a sub item of the login/out menu item. This code adds a register/site admin link to the menu after the login/out menu item.

add_filter('wp_nav_menu_items', 'add_register_link', 10, 2);
function add_register_link($items, $args) {

        ob_start();
        wp_register('');
        $registerlink = ob_get_contents();
        ob_end_clean();
        $items .= '<li>'. $registerlink .'</li>';
    return $items;
}

I don't know php so I found these on other sites. But not sure how to make the register/site admin code a submenu to the login.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
