Hi and Help!
where do I even find the version of WordPress, 1st of all?
2nd, I'm very recent Pro2/clickbank member, I've read the e-book, "The Truth About Clickbank"
Where's step one, two, three, etc., to begin making an income?

And, what's the story about that $15,000. a month situation I've received emails about. I cannot open the links that are in these emails. I mentioned this to Rick Davies and he told me to come here to blog..

From everything I've read this is supposed to be easy easy simple; not at all so - so far...

Can someone help me please?

Please just send a straight up email to soaring.andrew@gamil.com at least until all this is ironed out to my understanding.

Hi,

I searched this forum for hours now and don't find a solution to this problem:

Because of an config error, I had to reinstall WordPress on my server.
The only thing that doesn't work now = the NextGen Galleries, that are existibng on the server, can not be seen or found in the database.
Is this a known bug?

So is there a way to import existing galleries into the database?

Hi there

I have one website out of many that stubbornly will not allow me to upgrade beyond version 2.5. I ftp the files and then do the database upgrade and then get this:

WordPress database error: [Table 'dbname.wp_categories' doesn't exist]
SELECT * FROM wp_categories ORDER BY cat_ID

WordPress database error: [Table 'dbname.wp_post2cat' doesn't exist]
SELECT post_id, category_id FROM wp_post2cat GROUP BY post_id, category_id

WordPress database error: [Table 'dbname.wp_linkcategories' doesn't exist]
SELECT cat_id, cat_name FROM wp_linkcategories

...

I confirm that I want to do the upgrade and then am faced with a website with no pages - only posts. As the site is based on pages it's useless. I've been trying since 2.6 to upgrade the site but with no joy. The fun has gone on for too long.

Any gurus out there with ideas?

Today I found something strange in my WordPress, several of my posts had lost their tags. First I thought that it was just me, that I had forgotten to tag one, or two, posts, but then I realized that I remember adding tags to those posts. Then I found more untagged post, total 10 untagged posts, and I'm sure that all of them had tags before. So I wonder if this perhaps is a bug, could have been in 2.7+ and/or 2.8+, could it be an error caused by a plugin or maybe errors in the database? I was looking in an backup of my database, from before this summer, and their the posts, from before this summer, had its tags. Since I don't know exactly when this concurred first, I can't locate what might have been the problem. I have installed some plugin that display related post, among them YARP is the only one still using, that maybe can have caused it? What makes it more strange is that the posts, that had lost their tags, are scattered over time, two this month, one last month, three this summer, and rest before summer. None of them in row.

Hi,

It seems that your hosting service provider has blocked the mail() function due to server security but you can reset password from database. For that refer this article:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password

For the email reset the password you can use these plugins:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-email/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

For that theme level issue, disable all the plugins and enable it ony by one to find out the culprit.

Thanks,

You can start over, and unless you deleted your database, all your content is still there, if you had much, as you say. Searching in the forums for other people who have been locked out and had trouble with changing the password by email shows that some reinstall WP. So that's an option: reupload WP and start over. Just watch out for the theme that bonked in the first place.

I find the problem was not the loop, you can put the comment form anywhere you like but remember to put
the_post();
somewhere before your form. Usually right after
if ( comments_open() ) :

so it become

You won't find the database in your site directory anywhere. It does not exist in file form inside your website. Your posts, comments, settings, and everything that actually pertains to written content is stored in an SQL database in an application that resides on your hosts servers. The good news is, you can access, alter, backup and restore that data. Usually through your host-provided control panel.

A little light reading might shed some light on the idea, and get you started in the right direction.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Installation#Detailed_Instructions

See step two,to understand how the database got created, and how to access it.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database

http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

That may assist in understanding database backup and restores.

If you have access to a MySql management tool available to you in your host provided control panel, I urge you to investigate that option first, and discover how it can work for you before trying any other options. Your hosting service may even have some tutorials or FAQ's available on how to use it. Good luck to you.

Thank you for answering but I looked for that database name on my remote site and didnt find it, and I also looked in the folder I copied to my desktop and couldnt find in either. Any tips on where that thing is or if I need a special program to see the files? Thank you again, and please treat me like an idiot in your response, I searched pretty hard through those files and came up empty handed so obviously I dont know as much about this as I thought. Take care.

Ive seen this before, but not exactly the same. I had to reinstall wordpress and in anticipation of that I made a copy to my desktop of everything in the directory on my remote site then deleted the files from the remote site. Now that I have wordpress back again, I need to know where inside those folders are my damn posts that I wrote? Or how I am suposed to get them back. Please dont get too technical on me though, im not a total rookie but if I was as good as the rest of you I wouldnt be asking the question. Thank you very much for your help, and have a great day. If its too much to post, you can email me at survivalhike@gmail.com Thanks again.
