First off, I am new to this. Please bear with me

I understand that Wordpress themes are built in php script. However, I have put together a layout in Dreamweaver of what I want my record label's site to look like, and I am currently trying to setup Wordpress as my content managment system. Only there's one problem. I don't understand how it works. I have my completed site from DW ready to load onto a server, but how do I combine it with Wordpress? After I have all of my site's html files ready to go, how do I tell Wordpress where to publish everything? Basically, any information about how Wordpress works/communicates with your pre-existing site layout typed in html and css would be greatly appreciated.

After upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2 and later to 1.4.3 I've had problems with my design that I can't resolve on my own. Please check this exemplary blog entry to see what I'm talking about.
All my thumbnails use the same code but I still get these breaks in the thumbnail rows!? I get the error with every theme that I've tried and in almost every gallery. The error seems random and shows up in all browsers I've tested. Can anyone help?

Regarding the missing

tag, they must be ones put in by the theme or the widget since they're not in the XHTML that i'm entering into the widget...

Does that mean it's a bug with the arrass theme? I haven't messed around with the theme at all.

The only code i've added (bsides the stuff I quoted above) is pasted below.

Thanks again for your help with this!

It's saying that in XHTML, fully opened and closes image tags are in the form

You've got a bunch of code errors from cutting and pasting from Word or another word processor, and missing closing tags in the sidebar from widgets that output bad code or from editing sidebar.php: [Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.goodbadandbogus.com/ - W3C Markup Validator. Missing tags will throw off display most of the time, and will be different in different browsers, too.

Hi there,

The widget at the bottom of my side bar ("by me a beer" and "by me a cocktail") are behaving strangely. When they're any higher in the sidebar, everything below them gets pushed to the bottom of the page.

I've tried using just one of the images and not the other but this doesn't seem to help.

What could possibly be causing this?

Hi :)

At the moment, the 'logout' link sits below the 'Welcome (Username)' text in the sidebar widget. Is there any way of floating the 'logout' link to the right of the name so everything sits on the same line?

Hi

In the theme's index.php file, this is the code that is causing only the headings to appear, lines 36 to 40

<?php if (!(is_tag()) && !(is_category())){ ?>

	<?php the_content(__('

Read More >>
', 'pyrmont_v2')); ?>

<?php } ?>

It says, if this is not a tag page and not a category page, display the post contents. If you want the full contents displayed on all those posts, remove the first and last lines in that block of code.

But that is going to make a very long page. You might consider displaying just the content summary rather than the full content on those tag and category pages. if you want to try that, change that code above to this:

   <?php if ( is_tag() || is_category() ) {
        the_excerpt();
    } else {
	the_content(__('

Read More >>
', 'pyrmont_v2'));
    } ?>

Hi,

I am trying to do the following - I know the code is totally wrong as the html can't be implemented into the PHP tags but it was my first attempt and I feel illustrates exactly what I want to do.

<?php if (have_posts()) : ?>

		     	<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); if (is_home()) if (in_category(′6′)) continue; ?>

<div class="post" id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>">
<?php if ( in_category( '6' )) {

		<?php endwhile; ?>

Essentially what I am trying to do is change the size and position of the post image so that if a post is in category 6, it display a 150x150 to the right. If a post is in category 10, it displays a different image to the LEFT.

I want this to be reflected on the main page - it differentiates posts in either category.

Any idea how I might go ahead with it?

Thanks!

You could start by fixing some of the validation errors in your theme.

Hey
i have a problem with the layout of my pages and index and that is that it will show up very differently in different browsers as well as computers...
is there a code/way/command to get everything centered on the screen on all computers?
= not to have the content jump into different places when viewed in another computer than my own....

I have someone I am working with who doesn't want sidebar's on their homepage, however, wants them in other places. Because of the lack of a side bar, the content area is not consuming 100% of the area layout. Can someone direct me on how to manage that or a small plugin that might help.

Thank you

To have a good chance of a site displaying correctly in all browsers, the source code should validate, but the validator won't run on your site because you've got more serious problems than that. You've got some junk code that's probably also part of the display problem, so at least fix that and then revalidate: Markup Validation of ryankreeps.com - W3C Markup Validator

It looks fine on my macbook, but when I open it on a computer with a different resolution it looks terrible. Everything is out of place.

This is based off a wordpress template that I've customized a bit. This is my first website and I'm pretty much clueless. I know it has something to do with using absolute, relative, or float positioning. Can anyone take a look and give me some hints what is wrong?!

When I post something for example, a paragraph following with a bunch of photos, all appears on the front page!
What I would like to have instead is:
Just the title of that post + an icon style of one of those photos + part of that paragraph, with a "read more..." to takes the reader to the page with all the photos.

Could anyone kindly help me please?
Thanks
