Follow-up - I have tried to load the plugin directly with the same result. Can't figure out how to fix the problem so I am staying with the prior version until it is fixed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, chief

I have encountered a problem with the upgrade of the DashBar plugin. The automatic upgrade works but when WordPress tires to reactivate the plugin I get: Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/content/D/e/b/DebbiSmith/html/comeonsense/wp-content/plugins/dashbar/DashBar.php on line 26. I have to go back to the old version of DashBar to have it work. Any suggestions?

There's a plugin you can try for this:

quickpost from http://cjbehm.dyndns.org/wingingit/quick-post/

- it provides a post-window on the main page, and allows some customization of who can use it (I think - I'm only "me" - the only poster mostly, so I could give a you-know about others.... works for me!)

I've got WP 2.x+ running and it runs smooth. However, users complain that they cannot post form the main page...they are required to go to the admin dashboard to post...is there a way to have a link on the main page that allows a person to click that link and then post?

I've tried dashbar and while it does work, it doesn't fit well on my site and I know very little php.
