Anyone know how to fix the syntaxhighlighter to prevent it from adding space between '<' and '?php'?

Thank in advance.

That is the easy way... (i can think of other ways, but they'd require the same amount of work on your behalf - so won't make much of a difference)..

You're not asking for something simple..

The alternatives are..
a) Find a plugin that suits.
b) If one doesn't suit, hire someone who can write you one that does.
c) Ask endlessly on the forum in the hope someone will write it for you.
d) Read the docs, use google, learn the code, write the code.

We can point you in the right direction.... and offer ideas, but if you don't know how to code we can't really help much, short of writing the whole thing for you.. (i'd not put my hopes in that happening - it's quite possibly hours worth of work and testing)..

Hi,

At this point we return back to basics. A check of your site in the W3C HTML Validator reveals 48 errors, many of them 'Opening and Ending Tag Mismatches'.

If this was my site, I'd start from the top and work through the errors one-by-one. I still see lots of deprecated tags. Deprecated means tags not fully suppported by your
DOCTYPE
that may show display errors in some browsers. You should correct those to valid XHTML.

should be

,

should be

, and so forth.

On line 523, you entered a

tag instead of a self-closing
tag. Interesting what fixing that would do.

You certainly have good company! We all go through this, certainly when a site-glitch is hidden and persistent. We can take another look when the errors are corrected...

Try to remove the 'read more' and see if that fixes your problem. It seems like your 'read more' is what is interfering somehow.

Hi,

A look at your source code shows that the 6-2-2009 post was cut and pasted from Microsoft Word. This adds a lot of invalid code that creates errors in your page appearance.

A prior post, "Blog messed up in IE (Pasting from Word)" addresses this problem.

Actually, to continue talking to myself, haha, this works best:

All you need in your CSS is this:

.overimg, .overimg img {display:inline;}

Then use THIS as the Value in the custom field:

Use this for the CSS, seams to work better:

.overimg {display:inline;}
.overimg img {display:inline; padding:25px 0 25px 22px;}

Leave the "display:inline" in there. I dunno why, but if the .overimg div doesn't have it, it does some wacky stuff, though it didn't actually affect the layout, and was only noticeable if you also had a border on the .overimg div, which you'll never want.

...nevermiiiind....

I figured it out almost immediately after leaving the question, hahah.

I just changed it to:

<?php $key="overimg"; echo get_post_meta($post->ID, $key, true); ?>

Put .overimg {some margins and other formatting stuff} in the CSS

And in the Custom Field value for overimg I put all the link stuff:

Hey, everybody, what's UP!?

Ok, this is my sites posts page: http://www.defossesdesign.com/blog/posts

I found a page in the forums with kinda what I need, but not quite there, and I stink at PHP, so I was hoping someone could do me a quick favor.

OK, so I make a custom field named imgover, and put the image http location (without quotes, cuz they are there already, see code below) in the Value, and it magically appears (see 4th post down).

<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

This next string is what I added. I left in the 2 strings above and below to show you all where it sits in my index.php file.

<img src="<?php $key="overimg"; echo get_post_meta($post->ID, $key, true); ?>" />

But it's not QUITE what I want, because

I need to be able to make it a link to another site, if I want

I need to be able to tweek it's position with CSS

So I'm thinking, maybe surround it with

that string

to make it CSS tweakable? Yes?

And what about making the whole image a link, if needed?

OK, that's it, any help would be great, thanks!

Look at the source of the page you have referred to. Include your adsense code within the following html codes:

your adsense code goes here

I wish it would have been that easy. However this how my post gets displayed from single.php file:

<?php the_content('
Continue reading »
'); ?>

So no matter if I paste my adsense code before or after
tags it won't be in the middle of the text.

Hi,

Should be easy for you to do. Just copy the embed code from your adsense ad and paste it directly into the post where you want it.

for example

llllllaaaaaaaalllllllaaaaaaannnnmmmmmeeeeeeeee(embed adsense code)eeeeeeellllllcccccccmmmmmmmmmmmmcccciiiiiiii
ppppppppffffffoofooofofoofofofof.

Hope this helps

I am sure this must have been answered somewhere but I am not able to find the answer after googling for a while.

I would like to place my Adsense Ads in between the text of a single post. An example of somebody else doing this is here.

How can I do that?
