I'm having the same problem.

I get a "Redirect Loop" when I try to preview POSTS.

What's odd is that it works find when previewing PAGES.

I knew it was a risk to get a plug-in with no support, but this was the only thing I found that could add .html to SELECTED pages.

Same problem here. The admin works fine via https and so do the static readme.html and license.txt files. I was hoping to find a workaround, plugin, or even a code hack but all my searching hasn't turned up anything. I'm going through the WP source now to try to find the source of the problem...

For some reason, when I have this plugin along with redirection plugins activated, and only since upgrading to 2.8, I am unable to preview posts without an infinite redirect error. IE, if I am in a post draft and it is saved as a draft - for example siteDOTcom/this-is-great/11948/, wordpress lets me preview the draft at siteDOTcom/?p=11948 or /?p=POSTID. When trying to go to this URL, I get an infinite redirect loop that immediately goes away if I deactivate advanced permalinks. Additionally, so that you know, I have tried deactivating all plugins one at a time and this was absolutely the one causing the infinite redirect loop as it was the only one that solved the issue upon deactivation.

I have advanced permalinks set up to have newer posts (after a certain post ID) set up as the current permalink, which is /postname/postid/. Older posts are set up with permalink of /postname/, which is my older permalink choice

Please let me know if there is more background that I can provide. Thanks again in advance.

Is there a way using this plugin to redirect all old permalinks to a new permalink structure similar to the advanced permalink plugin that you have and no longer are updating? I ask for the following reason.

For some reason, when I have both plugins activated, and only since upgrading to 2.8, I am unable to preview posts without an infinite redirect error.

The reason that I am asking if there is a way to do this in redirection is that I would be find redirecting all of the old posts to the new permalink structure if it would solve the infinite redirect loop problem that I am having with advanced permalinks. Thanks again in advance.

Hey there folks. So, I was having an issue since upgrading to 2.8 whereby I was getting an infinite redirect loop upon previewing any posts. I determined that this plugin, though it used to be fine, is now causing that problem. When deactivated, the redirect loop goes away and I can preview everything just fine. Wondering if anyone knows of another solution whereby you can create a separate permalink for posts at a certain time frame. EG> I am using it currently as I wanted to create new permalinks structures for my new posts, without loosing those that were already published with a different permalink. Short of this plugin, Im not sure how to create such functionality, so at the moment, I still need the plugin but the redirect loop is causing issues in creating and then previewing posts before publishing. Any thoughts?

I have attempted to install 2.8 on a Mosso account, and everything in the admin works swimmingly (the theme preview even shows the home page correctly?!?) but when I try to access the front-end, I get a "redirect loop" error (or "too many redirects" in safari). I have searched the forums and tried every htaccess variation I can find to no avail. Any ideas?
Thanks! -Adam

it's buggy but it is working great for me... wp 2.7.1

I am thinking about fork it and just keep the Category-specific permalinks without the extra features.

solution to the problem seems to be this:

after deinstalling the plugin and removing the files from plugins directory, go to permalink settings and simply click on 'save changes'. it will refresh the old permalink structure.

same thing happened to me. good thing i was testing it out on the test blog, or i would have a real headache now.

i don't recommend this plugin to anyone, or if people are really curious about it, i recommend installing a new blog and testing it out.

Hello!

I'm really grateful to you for your plugin but I wish it worked.

My goal is to set unique permalinks based on title contents for each post. The titles are in Russian so I can't just use %postname% URLs - they are displayed in some weirdo %#%# hoodoo-woodoo.

Examples (of what I need):
http://malecoffee.ru/blog/2008/01/20/02:13:47/Getting-workplace-neat-in-10-steps
or at least:
http://malecoffee.ru/blog/Getting-workplace-neat-in-10-steps

The steps I followed:
(0. Installing the Advanced Permalinks)
1. Setting the Default structure for URLs in [Permalinks|Defaults]

(I figured out that if this setting is not Default then I get 404 on every newly customized link. Otherwise, however, I'm getting back to parent directory clicking the mod_rewritten URLs but it seems more of a right way...)

2. Skipping [Advanced]
3. Setting someting like:
Post 3 » /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%hour%:%minute%:%second%/getting-workplace-neat-in-10-steps
Post 4 » /another-unique-topic
..in [Posts]
4. Skipping [Migration] and [Debug]

And this would do that, I thought. And I actually saw new links made by my template and your plugin and I was happy until I clicked one.

If there a .htaccess in my /blog/ directory with standard instructions:

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /blog/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L]
</IfModule>

...then when clicking on a customized URL I got back to the index page of my blog.
If I deleted .htaccess, I got "Cannot open... No such URL" (from browser/server, it wasn't a templated WordPress 404 page).

I'd be happy if you could help me.

When the Common Options are Default, the debug window is empty, so I have nothing to attach.

Did I miss any step? Any advice?

Thank you.
