I've just finished installing Twitter Tools on my blog, and--while I don't yet know how it will work for me--it sure looks great on paper!

I do have one question, though...

I'm trying to edit, using the wordpress plugin editor, the two of the phrases that appear on my blog, relative to this tool.

I'd like to change "What I'm Doing..." and "More Updates..." to different titles. When I make the changes in the plugin editor, and go to save, I get the following error:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /wp-admin/plugin-editor.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.39 Server at madison-wisconsin-real-estate.com Port 80

Any ideas on what might be happening here? I've never experienced an issue with an inability to change display words on a plugin before. Thanks for any possible assistance.

I've been randomly getting multiple posts of the daily archives for awhile and scratching my head trying to figure out some pattern. Today I think I figured it out.

I am currently running WP 2.8.1 with TT 1.6, though this was occurring with WP 2.7.1, too. I'm not an active tweeter so usually I only have one tweet per day. The days that I do tweet more often are the days multiples of the daily archives are posted -- one for each tweet I made that day.

This means I have to delete all the extra posts on my blog, as well as all the extras that were crossposted to Myspace, Facebook and Livejournal. *sigh*

I have a question regarding the option: "Set this on by default". I have it checked and when I create a post using WordPress, it is checked and everything is rosy. However, if I use any other tool such as MarsEdit or Blogo or ScribeFire to create a post, the post never notifies Twitter. I have to use the dashboard to edit my post and manually check the "Notify Twitter about this post?" option. It seemed to work fine with the older version of WP and TT. Am I missing something?

The same thing happened to me too. I am on WP 2.6.3. and TT 1.5.1. I was lucky that it posted only 2 last night but it already scheduled 40 more for tonight with the same post. I deleted them but still they keep appearing so I don't have a clue what to do. I set the plugin to post one weekly digest of all the tweets. If anyone tried the fix on Alexking's please share your experience.
Cheers and hope it will get fixed.

I'm consistently getting only one post per day now. It seems to be getting built at the time I set in the config, but scheduled for 11:59 pm instead of published immediately.

Before, when I was getting multiple posts per day, they were all being scheduled for 11:59 pm on the day they were built. So the duplicates that were generated after midnight ended up scheduled for the following night.

I have the 'Create a daily digest blog post from your tweets?' set to YES and 11:59pm. When I checked this morning, I had 20 scheduled posts for 11:59pm tonite with YESTERDAY's tweets. Those tweets should have been in a single post posted at 11:59pm last nite.

I'm running WP 2.6.3 and Twitter Tools 1.5.1. I didn't have this issue until I upgraded my Twitter Tools install.

Does anyone know if/when this might be fixed. I'm going to have to turn off the digest posts since it's not working like it should be.

Same thing has been happening to me. I upgraded to Twitter Tools 1.5.1 two days ago, and the next morning discovered the unpleasant surprise that my tweet digest had posted to my blog more than 20 times. Ever since then, periodically I've gone into my blog admin during the day and noticed 20+ duplicate scheduled posts. I've tried completely redoing my settings, to no avail. If this keeps up I'm just going to have to disable the plugin, because it's flooding my blog with duplicate posts every night.

I'm still on WP 2.6.2, but I see people are having this issue on 2.6.3 as well. It's definitely something w/ the new version of the plugin, because I had used twitter Tools for over a year with no problems before this.

Oh, that's really helpful, thanks! Because I noticed that a post I did yesterday didn't end up posting to Twitter, and I thought there was yet *another* thing wrong with the plugin! I see now I just had that post's checkbox (which I didn't even know about) unchecked. So that's a relief.

So now, truly, all that seems important is the dysfunction with posts/digests from Twitter, which have the serious multiplicity issue. Hope someone can help with that!

Running WordPress 2.6.3 and Twitter Tools 1.5. Having the same problem with multiple copies of last week's digest. Didn't catch them before they were publisded. Feel as if I were spamming my own RSS feed. :p
