• Although I don’t understand layers and layers of features on WP and I’m not concerned cuz I don’t use many of them (shame, I know, but I’m only learning!) I’m really confused on one thing. The private entries. No one answered this question before, it seems, I’ve looked in a few topics, and well, um, so the Private Entries dont’ show up on the site? What’s with that? Is there someway to correct that? I mean, I want a few folks to read it but not some and they’re not frequent enough to begin a whole new WP thingy. Help?!

  • Lily, to make a private entry, type a post like you normally would, make sure that the post status is publish then put in a password where “post password” appears. To test it, after you post it, close all your browsers then go to your blog. You should have a box for a password. Once you enter it it will be available for you to read.
I personally use the title “Private” and have made a category named private as well for those entries. That way when someone pulls up the RSS they don’t see a title.

Coolness! Thank you very much! Yeah, I put the category name “private” as well.

Okay just to clarify, what southerngal just described is not a “private” post but a protected post.
