Welcome to the report of the Power of Information Taskforce. We are publishing this report in beta before we hand it in formally to the Government. We wanted to give the the community that has contributed to the Taskforce’s work the chance to make suggestions while the report is in draft. The report will be here for comment for two weeks. We shall make small improvements as we go along. Then we shall consider the views raised, adapt the report if we think it helps makes the case to the Government and hand it in to the Cabinet Office. So please go ahead and comment.

Why it’s in the Showcase: The Cabinet Office’s uses of WordPress to foster collaboration is not only extremely appropriate for the report’s theme, but also an excellent use of WordPress.

The Directgov | innovate site has been created for a technical developer community. Directgov’s main site, www.direct.gov.uk, is the official government website for citizens of the UK. It provides information and services from across government. It also offers a contact and help facility in relation to government services for citizens.

Why it’s in the Showcase: A government reaching out to developers is not common and Directgov’s choice of WordPress to power its developer website and blog is especially notable.

Barnsley Hospital is a Foundation trust, which means it is run by the local community for the local community. The hospital prides itself on being clean and having very low rates of hospital infections. We offer a wide range of world class treatments by caring, helpful professionals and short waiting times.
