Quercus Publishing Plc is an independent publishing house, based in London. It was founded in 2004 by Mark Smith and Wayne Davies, who had previously worked together at the Orion Publishing Group. It is known for its lists in crime (e.g. Philip Kerr, Peter May, Peter Temple) and its MacLehose imprint, which publishes translated works by authors such as Philippe Claudel, Stieg Larsson and Valerio Varesi. It also publishes the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

Why it’s in the Showcases: The developers said the site “was purposely designed to have a minimal feel to it. Publishers websites often have a lot of content on them so we tried to condense the amount of content shown at one point by using slide shows and a carousel.” The site has two prominent feature boxes and a book carousel that features throughout the site.
