Showcase » Open Source with Christopher Lydon

Open Source is a podcast and blog hosted by Christopher Lydon. It is a production of Open Source Media, Inc. and presented in partnership with the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University. Open Source began its life as “the blog with a radio show” that was produced by the University of Massachusetts at Lowell in the studios of WGBH (Boston, Massachusetts) and was distributed to U.S. public radio stations by Public Radio International. From 1994 to 2001, Lydon had hosted another public radio program, The Connection, which was produced at WBUR in Boston.

The title, Open Source, refers to the show’s use of practices used in the open source software movement and is a nod to the influence of the free software community based at the various universities in the Boston area.
