What is this plugin and why do I need it?

Ruven Toolkit provides extra functionality to the collection of Ruven Themes. The toolkit adds a Portfolio post type, custom widgets and shortcodes for you to use in your theme. The plugin is not a requirement to use with Ruven Themes, but it will extend the themes to function as you see them in the demos.

Can I use this plugin with other themes?

Ruven Toolkit was developed to extend the functionality of Ruven Themes, however you could use it with other themes. It essentially just creates a Portfolio post type, custom widgets and shortcodes, which are fairly universal in the theme world. You may have to provide some extra styling to customize it to your needs.
