This WordPress plugin adds a sidebar widget to display your ecycler (http://ecycler.com/) badge. In addition to the sidebar widget, the ecycler badge may also be displayed on your posts or pages using a shortcode.
Collectors: Use this widget to promote your ecycler business in conjunction with your marketing posters.
Discarders: Use this widget to show your pledge to recycle. Ecycler is a new way to recycle.
OPTIONAL: In order to maximize the power of this widget, you will need to register at http://ecycler.com/signup.php

About ecycler
Ecycler.com (http://ecycler.com/) creates a new way to recycle by connecting people discarding cans, bottles, newspapers and other materials with those wishing to collect them.
Ecycler provides an alternative to the many U.S. households, businesses and institutions that are not offered curb-side recycling. It’s also an option for people who have to pay for curb-side recycling or who want to have their recyclables picked up when and where they desire.

Installation
- Upload the
ecyclerfolder to the/wp-content/plugins/directory - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
- Enable the Widget through the Appearance –> Widgets menu (drag your Widget to the location you want it on your widget list)
- If you have already registered on ecycler.com, type in your ecycler Profile ID
- Change any other configuration settings here such as Title
- Click “Save”
Congratulations! Your ecycler widget is now working! If you would like to see your ecycler badge on one of your Pages or one of your Posts, place this shortcode anywhere: [ecycler-badge]
This plugin may work on WordPress releases prior to 2.7 but it has not been tested.

- What does this widget do?

This widget simply displays your ecycler badge on the sidebar of your blog. There are two different badges available, one for the collector and one for the discarder.
- Why so simple?

Over the next versions, we fully expect to add functionality to enable you to show your recycling efforts. This will include the ability to display your carbon offset achieved through your recycling efforts.

At ecycler.com we bring together those who have recyclables to give away with those who want to collect those recyclables. Many US households, businesses and institutions are not offered curb-side recycling; we’re giving them that option.
The collectors-or entrepreneurs-will make either 100% or 60% of the value of the recyclables, depending on if the discarder wants a payment in exchange for those recyclables.
The discarder has the ability to track his recycling in terms of the number of units and their combined carbon offsets.
