Widgets/DB Backup Plugins should be part of install

   Sidebar Widgets and DB Backup plugins should be shipped with WordPress as these are most needed plugins.

   Isn't database backup a part of the default install now? I agree that the sidebar widget plugin should be added, as well.

   I thought widgets were implemented now and db backup had been junked in favour of the proprietary import/export format?

   I agree... DB backup functionality that works flawlessly as part of the core product would rock. I think caching functionality that co-exists nicely with the DB backup functionality should also be part of the core product as well.

   Everyone should be backing up their DB but many don't know better. If it were part of the core product they would see it from the moment they installed WP. And most people I believe would enable caching as well since most sites are relatively static.

   Sidebar widgets are in core. DB backup is still plugin territory.
