Ideas

Use single post title as back button

It makes sense that clicking on a post title opens the single post. But I never understood why, when the post is displayed, the title is still anchored to the post itself. On my blogs I always change the title hyperlink to a Back button (javascript history -1). This is handy for browsing visitors.

This is based on the theme itself. My theme's post title isn't a link.

Not a bad idea, but definitely a theme designer's concern (as opposed to a WP "core" concern)

The idea is you can right click and go "copy link location" or whatever to get the permalink for the page. Having it like that on the single pages makes it consistent with other views.

As the other posters have said, this is down to individual themes, not WordPress itself. It's relatively easy to change the link target in the theme.

This is typical theme functionality anyway. Can already easily be accomplished with what's available, so nothing to add to the core.

Apart from being a theme issue, as people previously stated, it also goes against user friendliness. It's not logical to click the header of a post to go back, and this feature would actually confuse visitors.

Ya, the theme is to blame. Default theme should do this I agree.
