Upload From URL - Inline Uploader - Version Upgrader

The only option to upload images or files using inline-uploader when writing a post is to upload from our computer. Sometimes when I saw a collection of beautiful pictures and would like to share it on my blog, I have to download them all one by one and upload them using the inline-uploader one by one again.

It's very time consuming to do so. What if we have another option where we get to upload from an URL instead of just from our PC? Also, the inline-uploader won't let me to view all the images I have uploaded just now at one view. I have to click next to see other pictures and back to see the previous one.

If we are able to resize to window to a bigger one so that we can see all images at once, it should be another great thing. Lastly, I suggest that there will be an upgrader on our WordPress dashboard.

The upgrader will notify us once there are newer version available. And using the upgrader, we can upgrade our WordPress version without the need of downloading and uploading. This will save a lot of time and will help newbies.

Just my 2 cents, hope they'll be in the new version of WordPress

Images are protected by copyright, whether they are water-marked or not. You shouldn't be downloading images from the web and then uploading them to your own blog without the permission of the creator. This is a HUGE no-no. You could be held liable for damages if you get caught.

If you would like to blog about an image, please link to it via URL and give credit to the photographer in your post.

But you don't have to upload images created by others. If I uploaded a photo or image (created by me) to an other site, and now want to easily use it in a new post, this would be an interesting idea.

L2: There are many pictures on Flickr available via a URL licensed via Creative Commons where the photographer has explicitly allowed people to use their photos.

I agree, this function would be really useful, I was looking for alternative image mirror plugins, but found none.

I'm sure this possibility was left out because the copyright thing what L2 also mentioned, but You still can link (just not easily mirror) images from other URL's and not just steal their copyright but bandwidth too, or You can easily save+upload any image from the web, so leaving out this option won't change the situation, only makes it a little bit slower and more annoying.

Another reason for the URL upload possibility is that, there are more and more online image editors, like Phixr, Pixenate, Snipshot etc, You edit an image online there and it would be easier to copy-paste the URL of Your actual online edited image instead downloading it and uploading it.
