I think it is time for WordPress to be a truly multilingual platform. No more Gengo plugin, or any other plugins at all. WordPress, in its core, should allow people aroud the world to communicate in their native languages.

I live in Canada and we are a bilingual contry. I need French and English System and Themes translated! Gengo is an option and the best one, but it's not without faults.

    Checkout gengo-wp23 at http://code.google.com/p/gengo-wp23/
It's under development and they need help until WP supports it.

Not only communicate in your native language, when using wordpress as a cms (yes you can ;) ) with less overhead than others on market it would be nice to provide a multilanguage site e.g. for small businesses in multilingual countrys (suisse, belgium to name just two), or for businesses with foreign trades. Even a Blog that is easy to translate in different languages is a nice feature. Plugins are good, but I think it couldbe time to make multi language support and a small translation interface a core part of WP. Even as such a feature would make a different to other blogging engines

    Hi,

it's realy one of major missing specification, word press is future but future is concept of global tools for all of the world.
İ'm still using (unfortuantly) joomla for some multilingual website, because i can't be sure for the plugins stablity after future upgrade.
Waiting for a integrated multilingual support for wordpress.

Thank's to all developpers for this excellent system
