    This has been a possibility since you could use a home.php template. Just edit that and cut out the loop stuff, and you're done.

    Having to hand-create a home.php file doesn't seem like fun to this non-developer. I like WordPress.com's feature for setting what appears on the home page, which can be found under Options >> Reading in the WordPress.com dashboards.

    This was added in 2.1. Check out Options > Reading in the admin, it's right there.
