Select custom background image from media library

When using the custom background feature, the only way to change the custom background image is to upload a new file.

Rather than uploading a new copy it would be good to be able to select an existing image from the media library.

A practical use for this is for sites which have a standard backgrounds for normal display, but specific temporary backgrounds for specific days such as valentines day, halloween, xmas etc

I think there is a good idea here, more technically speaking - you should be able to upload and overwrite an existing attachment.

Agreed - I alternate between four headers based on the type of the latest post. I had to modify the header code in my theme to do this for me, but someone less technically inclined would find it easier to select a new background from their media.

Ditto. It would probably be pretty simple to implement from a developer standpoint if there was a way to categorize media.

I also want this and should be simple as the current function uploads an image to the media library anyway.
