Retry button after a failed Media Upload

Many times I get an error when uploading files, or not complete or not the rise, and I have to save the rest, sort, save again, then go up again and would accommodate where it should go.

I think it would be solved with a "RETRY".

It would also be good to improve virtually all of the gallery, have been very neglected.

    Thanks.

Thats a fantastic idea retry button should fix the error if it is set up correctly

With the new drag/drop functionality, is this still needed?

Yes, I know there's no retry button, but since you can drag/drop images now, do you feel you need one? You can just repeat the action. :) It's a function question.

Yes, you can always repeat the action, before the drag & drop too... the matter is:

Many times I get an error when uploading files, or not complete or not the rise, and I have to save the rest, sort, save again, then go up again and would accommodate where it should go.

And, why to re-upload the media, if it is easier to click on "Retry".

Also sometimes that gives errors... the files are upload at original size only, not in large/medium/thumb sizes, so you see the gallery with some pictures at original size. If you see file description, in size sometimes said "0x0", this happened when the host get out of memory for example... Is very unconfortable to use. I really love WordPress, is a very powerful tool, but the main function that I use, the gallery, is really bad (sorry about this, but it's true).

Many thanks for your interest in my idea, if I could help you in something, just tell me.

I can think of a few reasons why 'retry' isn't a good idea :) Most of it totally depends on the error. Like an out of memory error isn't going to get 'better' with a retry. The only one that would make sense is the one where you don't have permissions to the folder (a quick chown and it's all good) and want to retry. The problem there is WP doesn't know what the cause of the error is, only that there was an error. Which means a retry button would be an exercise in futility.

the files are upload at original size only, not in large/medium/thumb sizes, so you see the gallery with some pictures at original size. If you see file description, in size sometimes said "0x0", this happened when the host get out of memory for example.

Ah. The problem there is in how WP uploads. See the original file is uploaded and then resized by PHP calls, so if memory runs out b/c your initial file is too big for ImageMagick (the PHP tool that resizes, it's on most servers) then it does that. Which means unless it kicks back an error, WP doesn't know anything. Hard to trap.

The gallery works fine when you remember it's not a photo-blog app. If you're having consistent issues like that, you may need to look into a larger box with more memory allocated to PHP for large images.
