Pretty select boxes (ie chosen js or selectize js)

The new UI is neat, and the whole admin panel is much better, but the ugly browser default select boxes suck real bad and are hideous from a UI point of view.

Would it be hard to implement a <select> replacement plugin like Chosen or Selectize? some plugins already do it like WooCommerce.

I've created my own customized admin UI and included Chosen JS and it works quite well... but I have lot's of issues with external plugins that populate select boxes on the fly with Ajax... but surely WP can code this a way that it will work or refresh with any Ajax request from third party plugins?

    Cheers!

if the idea is to make WordPress as accessible as possible, adding more default JS behavior is a huge potential opportunity for things to break. i personally do add Chosen for select boxes with lots of options, but then I'm personally making a choice of potentially breaking something, rather than WordPress making the choice for me; plus, I can keep an eye on it, make sure it continues working through all stages of development, and if a plugin interferes, I know what the problem is, rather than the non-tech users.

crstauf - This is just for admin use, not front-end - and all my clients are told to download the latest version of Chrome to manage their wordpress site, so compatibility shouldn't be an issue... and well for accessibility, Its as simple as a toggle in the WP Settings page just like WooCommerce does with their Country select tool.

Use nicer select boxes? Yes / No

    Simple.
