When I tested WordPress 3.0-beta2 I was really glad of the new Menu feature which helps to create custom menus.
But I soon noticed one thing that I really miss here.
How can i handle Links to show some links only if the user is logged on. If not the corresponding links should not be shown.
For that I would like to have an option to hide / show the links on log in status.

I see this more as plugin territory. There should be plenty of available hooks for plugins to hook into the system to allow for things like this.
Core should focus on the basic package while making it easy to extend through plugins.

It should be in the "Navigation" menu, yes. If you move Quotes to a different menu, such as Primary links, it will probably not show up.
