Make "default category" optional

    Add an option to not have a default category checked when writing posts, that way, we can stop the collective centuries of man hours we spend clicking off "uncategorized"

    I also feel this would be a good idea, however I would like it to prompt the user to select a category if none is selected!

    Most of the writer for the blogs I run always forget to select a category so their posts always end up in the default category, I'd much rather they were in the correct categorys

    I'm pretty sure this idea is already being implemented in WordPress 2.1 - don't quote me on that, though.

    I think your wrong, I just downloaded and installed 2.1 and I cant seem to be able to do this!

    If im missing something please explain but i don't see a way I can delete the default!

    I see what you mean, none is pre-selected buut if you dont choose one it falls in the default.

    I was hoping this would force users to choose topic.
