    I don't think it can be done for 3.4 as it should be released in a few days, but for a future release, I guess.

    No way would this make it into 3.4 :) We're past feature freeze and into release candidates.

    Basically you'll get a version of WP trunk (i.e. latest and greatest bleeding edge). Edit the files in core. Test it to make sure everything works. Generate a diff. Make a ticket in trac, where you upload the diff, and hope :)

    Thank you, sir!

    I knew there was no way to do it for 3.4, but regardless of this really wanted to start submitting patches, so that link comes in very handy.

    Been using GIT for most my projects for a while, so hopefully subversion won't be that difficult to figure out.
