You could include a mechanism to restrict a user or category of user a maximum number of posts or page to create?
both custom post type and custom taxonomie!
    You can do this?

When would this be practical? You could set someone as a contributor and then approve all their posts if you wanted to monitor their post quality.

I can think of many uses for something like this. Imagine your site has a FAQ, and you would want the data to be entered in a series of repeating fields on one screen rather than a have a bulky interface for each item.
You would limit it to one in that case.

Sorry, I was meaning: no ideas for now about how to do it, I haven't done any research about it. But I think it can be very useful.

I agree with these....To limit the numer of posts or pages per user is great. Maybe you want to have a membership site were every user can create salepages or something like that with theyr affiliate link...5 Start from me

    PS: Excuse my english.

I'm glad you agree with me!
It would be better to extend this platform our needs.
But even some plugin was not bad, or advanced filters in function.php

I think this should be done with a plugin, rather than by WordPress itself. WordPress is a publishing enabler, not something that should limit writing.

Having said that, it would be a nice feature in some cases, but the resolution should come from a plugin :)
