    As WordPress sites get more and more popular, the performance takes a hit without some effective caching. There is a decent cache plugin out there (WP-CACHE) but it only works on Linux/Apache by default, I've never been able to get it working on Windows/IIS.

    Integrate this caching into the core wordpress solution and make sure it works on both Linux and Windows and it will make a huge difference to the page loading times and the general performance of WordPress sites, which will only make it more popular and widely available to folks as well.

    Change REQUEST_URI in wp-settings.php and modify this:

    if ( empty( $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] ) ) {
    $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] = $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME'] . $_SERVER['PATH_INFO'];
