Insert Port when asked for FTP logins

    Hello,

    my server is running its ftp service on a different port than 21.

    by default the FTP port cannot be changed when WP asks for the credentials. (plugin updates etc.) only hostname\username\password

    There's no chance for me to use this feature. WP will never be able to connect to the ftp without the correct port.

    I know that it can be hardcoded into the wp-config.php but wouldn't it be smart to add a PORT input field to the WP ftp setup instead so the user can change it if required? > hostname\port\username\password\

    maby I`m the only who does not use FTP on port:21?

    You can set this in your wp-config.php

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#WordPress_Upgrade_Constants

    FTP_HOST is the hostname:port combination for your SSH/FTP server. The default FTP port is 21 and the default SSH port is 22, These do not need to be mentioned.

    So you would do:

    define('FTP_HOST', 'ftp.example.org:99');

    Or whatever your port is :)
