I want to be able to set the default font and size for the editor. Not that it will effect the output font. The theme css does that.

You can do that already, BlogKing2.
add_editor_style();
Aww.. have any of you seen the CKeditor goes inline for it's 4th version ? Gonna be awesome if implemented in wordpress :)
Can this also be added to themes beside wordpress sites, or this will be specifically targeting WP sites?
Front-end page/post editing I think is one of the most wanted option for my clients/editors. They always complain that the editor screen in the admin section does not look the same as on the website front-end. For example some (old ones ;) just don't understand why the 'featured image' is not shown in the top-right corner of the text, so they add it extra in the post. Resulting in 2 images being displayed in the top-right corner on the front-end... I know Typo 3 CMS has front-end editing, sure would like to see this feature in WordPress.
ps. Is this the right topic for it? Let me know =)
No, that's really a separate topic. Front end editing is a smaller use case, too. We have themes that can do it, though. Like P2.
Yes, it's a separate topic, but I'll just slip this in here since mstaaij is watching: I'm using a plugin called WP User Frontend for my contributors who can't be allowed under the hood. Check it out; it's not perfect, but it works.
Thankz guys, sorry for the off-topic...
I use Ultimate TinyMCE plugin and am happy with it, but the fewer plugins the better as far as I'm concerned.
I would like to see better integration with copy&paste from excel. There is an option to paste the data from MS Word, but tables from excel doesn't work as lot of people would like to see :(
