The visual editor must be improved to work as expected and more importantly it should not remove or auto format the content whenever switching between HTML / editor mode. It should simply generate clean HTML out put...

I am so screwed with Visual Editor. Since WP 3.3 I cannot see it at all and have tried everything possible read on every forum as well as had my host ENTER my SITE to see the dashboard and research problems.

DId I mention I am on a MACOSX 10.4.1 Tiger?
The standard browsers (Firefox, Safari etc) are all there but this OSX only supports older browsers.
So i went into my dashbboard via a new Macbook Pro in Snow Leopard (borrowed) and everything is fine.

    But i dont own it.

Long story now i am a coder. And have not every wantd to be that.
I have no time for this nonsense. I have no time to write my content! If i dont buy a new computer i might have to abandon WP altogether.

    ANY HELP????

Yes, its beyond time for a Editor upgrade. I believe making great leaps in the Editor should be the target for WordPress 3.5. Its 2012, its time for a modern editor that is desiring to be called the WordPress editor.

Just a thought, rather than reinventing wheels...
-- With respect, I too find the so-called "advanced" TinyMCE editor incrdibly ordinary.

As a long-time Joomla site developer, ALL my sites use the "JCE editor" "component" + "add-ons".

It is based TinyMCE and is quite outstanding... IMO !

    First glimpse for overview here:

JCE is devised and maintained by Ryan Demmer.

Maybe Ryan might like to collaborate to fast-track a new WP editor.

PS. I am not affiliated with JCE in any way.

@TophePress - I really like your idea, not that big of a fan of "reinventing the wheel" if there is a perfectly good solution that exists. I am all for it, as for as that goes I think it would benefit all CMS's (and yes I recognize WordPress a CMS now not not just a blogging script) that they use the very best Editor possible.
