Improve WordPress.org for User Feedback channels

According to a moderator, the Requests and Feedback forum is not read by the WordPress developers. Constructive criticisms that users were giving about issues with WP 2.5 are therefore being missed.

To improve the process for average users to give feedback, I suggest that the Forums home page has a clearer introduction with links to:

    1) This Ideas section
    2) The mailing list sign up pages

At the moment, these items are a bit hidden: pointing users to them with clear instructions would be a great boon to getting more contributions on how to improve WordPress.

In addition, I think the "Requests and Feedback" forum should be renamed because it is clearly no longer serving its original purpose.

Agreed. I understand the name came from when WP was smaller and developers did read it. But, now that things have changed, the forum title should reflect reality. And easy-to-find pointers to the proper channels for feedback would be great as well.

Indeed. It's clear that the mailing lists are the place for feedback before a new version is released, but there's no readily apparent place to voice concerns about new releases after the fact.

It would be helpfull. I can see a lot of people are very frustrated at the lack of any 'answers' in the feeback forum.
