favicon support

    Built in support for user uploaded favicon for the blog and blog feeds. There are plugins for this but its not a big deal for coding and should be included as standard?

    Hmm, but all you have to do really is put a simple favicon.ico in your root wordpress directory.

    Its as simple as puttong a favicon.eco in root -- not a big necessity. but joomla has a feature where you can specify the favicon

    Wondering if they don't really mean including in the code the ability to show an avatar of the poster...
    Yes, there is a plethora of plugins that do this. I'd personally not want to see avatars inclusion code in the core, mostly because it belongs in the presentation layer, and presentation is handled by the themes.

    This is a good example of what shouldn't be needed in the wp core. If you really want a favicon, it takes five seconds to google it and you're done.
