Embedded Voting

Okay so there's a plugin that allows voting up-or-down on individual blog posts, creating a net + or - numerical score for the post.

And there's a plugin that allows voting up-or-down on individual comments, creating a net + or - numerical score for the comment.

But I'd like to see an up-or-down vote widget that can be stuck anywhere *within* a blog post. In other words, I may create a blog post listing my top five favorite ice cream flavors. I would stick this widget next to each line of text. Visitors could then vote up-or-down on each one of my top favorite flavors. After enough vistors had weighed in, I could look at which of my favorite flavors had the highest net score and thus get a picture of which flavor the the readership thinks is best.

    Does such a thing exist?

    Many thanks.

Suggest you look at poll functionality - there are polling services that let you embed the poll in your page

I don't think this should be a core feature - it would be a good idea for a plugin.

The reason is that a lot of WordPress installs are for official-type blogs where people wouldn't be allowed to vote on the quality of the article or anything.

This is plugin functionality that in fact already exists. No reason it should be in core.
