Email when registered users create posts
One feature missing from WordPress the ability for admins, or specific users to be notified via email when another registered user creates a post. I honestly thought this feature was already built in, but it appears that is not the case. It would also be nice if you can specify specific users to be notified when a comment is posted on any article, not just notifying the author.
It's built into wp.com, but as there is a wide variety of servers, all will possibly different mail apps, there's no real effective way to set this up within WP and not cause issues.
Definitely, I agree with lucid79, this feature is a must have. I use Draft Notifier which works really good but would have prefered to have it in the core WP. If Draft Notifier works well on all servers, I am sure WP could do the same.
You should take a look at the "subscribe2 plugin"
I use it on one of my membership sites to notify subscribers when something new has been posted. You can define the notification list to include whatever email addresses you like. By default, all new posts will be emailed to those addresses.
@Mc Baldness, this plugins works but i think it should be written in the core of the start ZIP WordPress...
Not everything that can be in core should be in core, unless you want core to be 10 megs.
This isn't needed by all users.
Like Gilles Gallico i think is really a must have, it should be in the core :) Maybe everybody doesnt need it, but it's the same for a lot of stuff already in the core.
