disable pingbacks from the very same blog

It would be nice to have an option to disable trackbacks from the very same blog. I am linking to internal pages and getting the trackback notifications by email.
I am not interesting in knowing that it was me who linked to my very own pages!
    What you think?
is there something i am missing?
    thanks,

Internal Pingbacks are useful for letting readers of the linked article know that you've said more about the topic. We tend to avoid adding options whenever we can help it. Please try this plugin as a solution to your issue.

I'm with Mark on this one.

    Would a simple `rel="nofollow" suffice?

Pingbacks on your own posts seems very odd and confusing, and then getting notices in your e-mail about it is irritating; I'd favour an option to disable it, so that the blog owner can decide if it is "useful" for their own particular site. Doesn't seem like one should need an external plug-in to disable this odd behavior.
