It would be great if the WordPress Dashboard could be edited over the admin panel.

Yes, and give it the drop and drop feel of something like Netvibes.
I know that there are existing plugins that can do this, (i.e. Dasher or Angsuman's one) but these seem like dirty hacks!
Maybe a better approach would be to make the Dashboard more "pluggable" so that plugin-developers can develop on that (potentially including Widgets?)
Yes, yes! Plugins and Widgets for the Dashboard would be greatly appreciated! It would be nice to be able to specify our own "regions" in CSS or directly through the Dashboard configuration, too.
Someone mentioned a Plugins Update Notification thang, this would be a perfect fit for a customized Dashboard.
Askimet spam blocking, visitors and stats per day (other than the usual), custom feeds and loads of other things could go into something like this. Not to mention the fact that the Dashboard is just plain clunky and not terribly useful most of the time.
At least we need hooks and actions to show/hide and modify all party of the Dashboard!
I do believe a lot of this is going to be added into "shuttle" although it's been quite a while since anything has been released about it.
Shuttle's dead as far as "becoming the next wp-admin interface" is concerned.
Back on topic: at the very least, you should be able to specify which RSS feeds are pulled in for the bottom half, but yes, I like this idea.
There definitely needs to be some kind of dashboard management. I always end up editing the index.php file to get things how I want them, which means removing all of those RSS feeds except the official development one, and rearranging the latest activity pane. Being able to do this by dragging and dropping would be great.
At the very least having the 2 rss feeds set in options would be handy.
This would be a great feature. I'd especially like to be able to put in some RSS feeds.
