It would be cool if you could just drag and drop to change the menu order of posts, pages, custom posts, and taxonomy terms, so that they can be published in a custom order. This would take WP even further down the road to a CMS that can do anything easily.

MemberThe plugin Custom Post Type Order presents a very good UI experience to consider as reference for this specific to post types.
Might be a setting to turn on / off to mitigate issues of themes that don't take advantage of that feature and the admin interface being designed for it.
