Search here is really bad. How you people who have created such a good software can not improve the Search feature here. It is almost useless.

Totally Agree. Searching for plugins is not fun.

Why can't the search box provide a search on title or purpose only, rather than the text of the instructions?

Maybe even a google-style search where if you use a + betweeen words, it will only provide results that include all the words.

Yes, I second the idea of being able to find plugins for a specific version of WP... More than half of the plugins I've downloaded said something like for version 2.0+ only to find out later that it should have been 2.0-2.5, but nothing higher..
I'd like to be able to check off a box that searches only within plugins compatible with version 2.6.3 for instance..

the current plugin database could be improved.

phpbb and joomla both have a VERY nice and easy/fast search database.

    search by wordpress version..
    search by type..
    search by newest..
    search by more downloaded...
    search by highly rated..
    search by author..
    search by cost (free/paid)?
search by most used? (probably cant be done. but its a good idea)
    im out of ideas...
