Converte Custum-Fields -> Taxonomies

    When wordpress add the Tag taxonomy to wp-core, developers added a builtin import tool to converter categories to tags (wp-admin\import\wp-cat2tag.php).

    Since v2.8, it easy to add new taxonomies and we no longer have to use custum fields to defien other fields (channels, countries, people ect.).

    Creating a new tool in wp-core to convert custum fields to taxonomies will make it easy for us to use this feature.

    Sounds more like plugin material to me.

    I don't really think it should be the responsibility of the core to make up for people's custom structural issues.

    Agreeing with greenshady here... this is definitely functionality that should be seen in a plugin.

    Converting custom fields to taxonomy terms can be easily done from a plugin (I've done it in a few lines of code).

    I agree with Greenshady, that is not at all a function that should be added to the core. If you are to have a feature like that then it would be better to make some plugin which would carry out the function in much better way. Scribu thanks for the link.
