    What I would like to see is implementation of the asides technique in the categories, this way, it would be possible to have more control over the content (make it switchable so you can have more options, plug-in/widget like maybe), I'm sure that the musical part of community would be more then grateful, as this would provide an option to turn WP into a beast of a CMS.

    This sounds like typical theme-level functionality. This can already be accomplished with the available conditionals and template tags.

    Yes, that can be accomplished by themes. Don't see the point of making an issue out of this.
