Cancel upload

Every once in a while I will jump the gun and drag a whole whack of photos onto the upload screen ... only to realize moments later that these are the HUGE (2800+ pixels) versions and I meant to upload smaller versions. But now I have to wait until all of these are uploaded before I can delete them all. And since they are the huge versions, it takes forever!
It would be great if there were a Cancel Upload button somewhere on that page, that could bail me out of my stupidity. The only other option I have found is to exit the browser, then restart it and log in again. A decent enough workaround, but far more time consuming than a simple cancel button.
    Thanks!

Yes just happened to me. Had no idea there was no way to stop it.

Please add me a cancel button!

I had the same problem, it takes some time to delete an uploaded file, even if it's partially uploaded, I find it's name sometimes in the Plugin directory, so When upload i again I have to rename it or find the duplicated name and delete it, so it will be really better to add a cancel Button.

Same here! I’m waiting for an upload to fail while I write this… What a waste of time. Please add the "Cancel Upload" button! Thanks…

Yes, its a hack of a problem, and it happened to me a few times in the past.

I read the bug you mentioned:

I don't understand - It is acknowledged as a bug - but when is it going to be fixed ? The thread is from two years ago.

Is obvious a "cancel update" button should be added, and programmatically its not hard to achieve" send a signal to the uploading thread.
The more interesting questions, as stated in the forum thread is, should we delete the images which were already uploaded?
I think yes, but bit complicates the whole process.

I agree with lenwpexpert. Delete the images which were already uploaded.

Although there may be instances where some of the images in an upload might be wanted by the user, it's a lot less trouble to re-upload then to introduce a mechanism for deleting images.

This is the issue with the 'cancel' button:

The problem is that we can't cancel the currently uploading file from JS (for now). Only way would be to reload the page or close the popup.

If someone can make it work, please submit a patch, but elsewise it is currently too difficult. There isn't a cancel button on Facebook, Twitter, or G+, just a delete if you oops'd it.
