Better User Profile

In User Profile (WP-admin) I need more details: phone number, fax number, address, date of birth, picture of me, etc.

Is it possible to add it please?

Anything else: in textarea "About Yourself (Share a little biographical information)" doesn't work the HTML element "a" (for links to websites).

I would love for the user descriptions to allow full HTML code so that user's could add links, images, etc., within their descriptions. This apparently was available in earlier versions of WordPress, making it all the more infuriating that it's not present!

Just make adding a few boxes to the user pages en being able to select which are obligatory to fill in when registering to the blog would be very very nice.

While at it, this more detailed profile could be automatically marked with hCard.

This would be great for multi-autor blogs or community sites. Custom information could then be pulled into an author info page and also used throughout the blog where appropriate.

WordPress 2.0 introduced a new database table called wp_usermeta, which was designed to store custom information for each user: http://codex.wordpress.org/Database_Description#Table:_wp_usermeta

A get_usermeta function was also introduced to retrieve that information so you can display it in your blog: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_usermeta

So, the foundation for this has already been put in place. It would be great to have a capability built into the dashboard for adding and maintaining fields. I'd also like to be able to specify what user levels can edit each field, and what user levels have each field hidden.

I agree with some of the comments already made. It would be great if we could manage our own custom User Profile fields from within wp-admin with the following capabilities:
    - add, delete and modify custom fields
    - attach restrictions/permissions to each field
    - define fields as obligatory or optional for registration

I imagine this could be implemented as a table with columns for Field name, View user level, Edit user level, Mandatory (checkbox), etc.

The Usermeta and Userextra plugins provide a partial solution to this, but it's then hard to bring that info back into the profile. It's kind of a drag to have 2 tabs to display the complete profile.

I would really like to see a "proper" user profile. Users should for example be able to upload their photo(s).
Another nice idea would be a Personal Messaging System.
And a Frontend solution would be very nice as well :-)
