Better SEO optimization

Start with automatic pagination instead of the "next" and "previous" links that currently exist at the bottom of every page.

Also make archived posts show only excerpts in order to avoid duplicate content for search engines.

Place blog title after post title by default.

    Etc...

Sorry, I disagree with paragraph 2. When I read posts, I generally hate clicking a more button. That would be a good way for me to tire of reading a user's older posts. I think a robots.txt file would be a better solution to bug the searchbot not the reader.

Finally, I prefer you to make separate posts for separate suggestions. See #1 is a 5 star, #2 is a 1,, and #3 is a 5 for me. How do you expect me to rate this and the developers to see what we want?

The main title of a page has to in an h1 element, not the title of the site. Right now the h1 is the same on all pages and the h2 is the page title. Very important to fix this.

well ... I disagree - don't put things like that by default, they are useful - but more advanced user sould be able o choose, and for rookies it's better like it is now.

Can we PLEASE change WordPress core to make the blog title appear AFTER the post/page/search title? This is SEO 101 stuff and is such a simple, quick change to make.

It would eliminate the need for a plugin (Opimal Title) that does it now. The less plugins the better.

The SEO-savvy people are desperate for this, and the non-SEO people don't care anyway.

So what are we waiting for??????

    optimization optimization?

Presenting a specific individual idea in the content of user experience seems more likely to gain traction than the general and moving target of "Better SEO"

... and can't all these be done via themes as opposed to "core" WP?

Solo's right. It's not the core, it's the theme. The core give the information to the theme, and the theme does the rest.
