Add bbPress as a WordPress plugin

bbPress is excellent and many people are using it as an addition to a site that has WordPress as well. Can't the two work together? If the bbPress functionality could be provided as a plugin (or merged into the core of WordPress) sharing the same database and userlist etc then suddenly there would be loads more people using it?

Being able to use the same user registration info would be great.

I agree... Offering Hosted bbPress and WordPress.com blogs would be an most excellent idea! even say, when you make a new blog posting, have it create a post in a message section that the user configures, so it can be discussed on the users forum, would be sweet as well. all of this would be disabled if the user so chose to do so. Themes for the forums would be nice as well. Maybe make the themes interchangable. like the theme for my blog, the forums could be configured to look the same. If possible. I could go on and on.... :)

Easier, better bbPress integration with WordPress is always on our radar over at http://bbpress.org.

We've got some interesting plans and even better ideas for the future. Exciting!

Make bbpress a WordPress core option (or at least keep Automattic sponsoring it as a plugin) and make BBsync CORE to BBpress!

That way we can use the bbsync POSTS automatically copied into a full-powered forum discussion. Now that would be cool!

I think bbPress would need to mature a lot for it to become a core feature in WordPress. The two softwares are too far apart at the moment IMO.

Don't make it core, not everybody needs forums.

The integration at this point is pretty easy, but a little extra love in that department couldn't hurt.

  8. As I know bbPress still needs more improvment and not everyone need the feature from it.
