Not at this time. We don't have the manpower on the plugin repository review team, and we don't have a (pardon the phrase) workflow that would handle all the requests in enough time. Look at how many plugins there are. That would be a full time job for a lot of people :/

I really need this. I can't believe it is still not there - a massive oversight in my humble opinion. Currently, it require s a lot of clicking and surfing to find this info which should really be displayed continually on the plugins in WP.

At the very least, plugins should show a link to their page in the plugin directory so that users can check the version there before updating Wordpress.

In Drupal, plugin (module) developers are required to test and provide compatibility data for their own plugins rather than relying on the community to do this (which is a flawed idea, IMO). Can this approach also be brought to Wordpress?

woccax - Only issue I see with that is not all plugins use the WP forums for their support/communications. Nor are they required to.

Also, in the same sense it would probably make sense to add the "talkback" feature used at wordpress.org to allow all admins to directly report if a certain plugin doesn't work with their set of installed plugins.

I would love to see this addition - I've had cases when I have accidentally broken my site plugins just by upgrading wordpress.

Usually I have to do the upgrade, find out what is broken on the live site, and then go back and get it running again.

This is something I've grown accustomed to with another CMS.

I would like to see a selector on the extend/plugins index page which allows me to filter only for those identified as compatible with each version of core.

The plugin compatibility info is priceless and could be used more optimally. Currently the only ways to access it are (1) in the Upgrade/Updates screen in wp-admin, where it is given only for plugins which have updates available, and only relative to your current version, or (2) on the plugin page on wordpress.org.

This does not cover one crucial scenario: before I upgrade a site to, say, 3.0, I want to know the compatibility of all of the currently installed plugins with that new version. This would be a massive help. It's very painful to manually check this for all installed plugins when you know that the data is already there (mostly) and could be pulled in automatically.
