My host (hostgator) recently started prohibiting me from uploading video files (9mb) via the backend. The files actually make it to the server, but apache processes hang once it tries to 'crunch' the video file and the process can't complete... meaning my video never shows up in the media library as a result.

I love the 'crunching' processes that happen to images... but for videos? That is prohibiting me from using wordpress on my host... and it is a needless process from what I can tell. Lets allow files like mp4 and flv to escape the 'crunching' code and just flow straight through to the media library.
