Particularly I'd like to not have to wait for all the pings to complete when posting, its hung on quite a few occasions. Perhaps the option to ping from a cron job or admin option. I'd also like the ability to set up custom update service pings based on the category I am posting to. If I'm posting about my dog then I don't necessarily want to ping a tech update service, despite the fact I mostly post on tech related issues.
