The way it's coded on wp.org is for Multisite.

Jetpack's perfect for single site.

Multisite you generally want to grown your own form, and it's a beast of an entirely different color. Look for Members plugins.

I run multi-sites and I have one that is a private blog that I want to invite people to so they can view it but not let others see it. Is that similar to what you were able to do?

I think it will be very useful for many to have implemented in the next version of Wordpress a feature that already exists on Wordpress.com based blogs, namely "Invite People to Follow Your Blog", just like is explained in this thread: http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
What do you think? Have you already received this kind of request for a new feature? Do you think it might be implemented in the new versions?
