Place uncompressed 'ft_wpmu_metatags' folder and the 'ft_wpmu_metatags.php' file in mu-plugins directory.
Alternatively, you may just place the ft_wpmu_metatags_core.php file in the mu-plugins directory without any accompaning files or folders.
