Plugin Directory

WP & SMF

First of all, Wordpress 2.0 or higher and SMF 1.1 or higher must be currently installed on your site.

SMF must be installed with UTF-8 encoding. If it is not, you can visit http://www.simplemachines.org to learn how to convert to this encoding.

Unzip the WPSMF file, and copy the WPSMF folder with all its components into wordpress's "wp-content/plugins" directory. Do not change the folder name.

Go to the Wordpress Admin panel, and click on "Plugins", then "Activate" for WP_SMF.

Go to "Plugins", then "SMF", and enter the path to your SMF forum.

This should "Connect" your bridge if the path was entered correctly.

Next, backup your database and choose "Integrate Previous Users". Without this, no prevous users will be properly bridged. This includes admin.

Next, click on the "Readme" tool for more information. Essentially, the SMF_Wordpress zip file must be installed into SMF now. It requires no configuring, but will not work until the previous steps have been completed.

To install SMF_Wordpress, go to your SMF Admin panel, and click on "Packages", then "Download Packages".

Upload SMF_Wordpress in its zipped form here.

Then go to "Browse Packages". Find SMF_Wordpress in the list of packages, and click on "Apply Mod".

On follwoing screen, click on "Install".

You are done! Users are completely integrated. More info can be found in each package's readme file.
